PricewaterhouseCoopers Alternatives Seminar
This year, the Bermuda session of the Alternatives Seminar will be held at the Hamilton Princess on December 9, 2008.The session will cover industry topics such as accounting and reporting developments (US GAAP, Canadian GAAP and IFRS), emerging issues and industry trends and the latest tax updates. The seminar will conclude with holiday cocktails and an opportunity for netowrking afterward.

15th Annual Global Hedge Fund Summit
The Institutional Investor Alpha Hedge Global Hedge Fund Summit took place on October 26-28 at the Fairmont Southampton. PricewaterhouseCoopers exhibited at the conference and it was attended by investment partner, Scott Watson-Brown, and senior manager, Matthew Clarke. The conference promised opportunity for networking, as well as presentations from industry leaders to gain an understanding of how current and ongoing developments are driving and influencing the funds, in their home markets and the regions in which they invest and operate.
Bermuda Captive Conference 2008
This year, the 2008 Bermuda Captive Conference was held at the Fairmont Southampton Hotel from July 16-19. The conference was attended by risk managers and service providers from Bermuda and abroad. It is a definitive forum designed to focus on issues of interest for Captive owners, prospective owners and market professionals. PricewaterhouseCoopers Bermuda exhibited at the conference and were Silver sponsors of the event.
RIMS 2008
The 2008 RIMS conference took place in San Diego, California from April 27-May 1. PricewaterhouseCoopers exhibited at the conference, and were delighted to have the expertise on hand from colleagues located at PricewaterhouseCoopers Cayman Islands, St. Louis, New York, Chicago, California and other parts of the United States.
World Insurance Forum
PricewaterhouseCoopers sponsored the World Insurance Forum, widely knowledged as the leading industry conference that draws together the 'C' level executives from the world's leading insurers, reinsurers, brokers and captival marketing, both as speakers and delegates. A highlight of each event has been a CEO Leadership Panel that gives attendees the opportunity to enjoy a provocative and in-depth discussion of issues of crutical importance to the industry, which today embraces the impact of globalisation, climate change and terrorism.
Although the seven previous conference have been held in Bermuda, the 2008 conference was hosted in Dubai from March 17-20.
CICA 2008
The 2008 CICA conference took place in Scottsdale, Arizona from March 5-7 this year. The conference provides its attendees with an unparalled venue for both networking and to build upon their education. The conference is aimed at professionals involved in the captive and risk retention industry. PricewaterhouseCoopers exhibited at the event and it proved to be a successful experience.
