Success stories

We have extensive experience in providing diverse types of services to the engineering & construction industry. The success stories which follow illustrate a number of our approaches to providing complex solutions to the industry:
  • African nickel mine delay arbitration (123kb)
The output excavation per laborer was substantially reduced as a result of increased humidity and temperature in the mine that occurred through a failure of the mine owner to properly ventilate the works.

  • Fraud risk management at a major European utility (120kb)
Through the combined efforts of our construction and fraud investigations practices, we have been able to assist clients in the investigation and risk management against the incidence of frauds on major capital projects.

  • International power station dispute (196kb)
Considers adjustments to the project programme during specific "windows" in the project performance period. "Windows" defined are based on the timing of significant project events. Considers contemporaneous changes to project critical path and effect of activity re-sequencing on project milestones.

  • International road construction arbitration (143kb)
The collapsed as-built method was selected as the most appropriate retrospective delay analysis technique for determining our client's EoT entitlement. Our analysis included the effects of seasonal productivity as the project was based in a tropical environment.

  • North Sea gas platform cost and delay (101kb)
Our client required board level advice as to how to proceed with the situation where significant losses and delay had occurred on a project, and where the prospects of recovery of monies had not been investigated.
