The issue
The Flemish government had decided to buy carbon credits to help meet its 2008-12 Kyoto target and wanted help in choosing between two options: creating its own carbon fund or investing in an existing one.
Our approach
PricewaterhouseCoopers conducted a survey of existing carbon funds, including their risks, accessibility, and type of credits provided. From this survey, a range of options for the Flemish government were derived. The client’s most attractive options were further developed.
