We are pleased to announce the launch of Flight International’s 'Aerospace Top 100' in association with PricewaterhouseCoopers. Flight International is " the world’s leading international aerospace news weekly magazine" with 43,000 readers in nearly 200 countries. The Aerospace Top 100 features insight and comprehensive analysis of the Top 100 marketplace.

This report has been compiled by Neil Hampson, UK PwC Strategy partner and UK A&D XLOS Leader with support from A&D consultant Felicien Dillard and written by Flight International magazine. An article by Alistair Kett, UK A&D Performance Improvement Consulting (PIC) Leader entitled, "Customers say 'Enough is Enough'", is also featured.

Key findings:

  • Aerospace's Top 100 revenue generators grew 12% in 2006 to $483.4 bn - but almost all that growth came from the commercial market, with the defence business remaining essentially flat
  • Operating profits totalled $41.5 bn last year, up 8%
  • In keeping with the 80/20 rule, the Top 20 companies accounted for 80% of the industry's sales and earnings
  • The aerospace industry will be lucky to see similar revenue growth in 2007 given the constraints on commercial aircraft capacity growth at Airbus and Boeing - and defence spending staying flat
This will be of particularly interest to CEOs/ Board Directors, Strategy/Business Development/M&A Directors, Regulation Directors, Procurement Specialists, A&D analysts and the Airline/Defence community in general.
