This briefing, written in co-operation with the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU), looks at how financial services organisations in Asia approach the enhanced demands of market reporting and explores whether stakeholder expectations are being met. Are international best practices for reporting standards being employed and how long will it take for the region to reach the same stage as their international counterparts?

The research effort for this briefing comprises of two initiatives:
  • The EIU held over 15 one-to-one interviews with senior executives at financial services institutions in Asia.
  • The EIU and PricewaterhouseCoopers conducted a special on-line survey of senior executives in financial services institutions on the subject of market reporting. Over 123 executives in financial institutions in Asia participated in the survey, which was conducted during August and September 2006.
